New Delhi, June 23, 2007 (Saturday) - President A.P.J.Adbul Kalam has withdrawn his idea of joining the race for the office of the President of India. He gave his consent for the second term as President just as a courtesy of friendly gesture to the senior leaders of the third front who he did not like to disrespect; there was nothing else otherwise as per the close sources in anonymity.

New Delhi: June 21m 2007 (Thursday) - Pratibha Patil called on President APJ Abdul Kalam here today and submitted her resignation as Rajasthan Governor. By doing so, she paved the way for her presidential bid. But President Kalam's agreeing to go for the 2nd term in office of the President with an express condition of certainty, has weakened the position of Pratibha Patil politically, irrespective of the further changes in the scenario like CPI (M) not agreeing to support Kalam.

New Delhi: June 21, 2007 (Thursday) - The situation has changed after President APJ Abdul Kalam agreed to the proposal of the Third Front to go for the second term if his return is sure. The most advantageous position in favor of Abdul Kalam is that CPI(M) has also agreed to discuss the proposal to get second term in office to President A P J Abdul Kalam. BJP too seem ready to reconsider for Kalam.

This question remained open from the day the Honorable President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was elected. President Kalam's term will expire on 25 July 2007. Thus an election is due for electing a new President. Incidentally, the qualifications required to become the President of India are :
