The women, particularly the youth of today, can easily entrap the innocent people for blackmailing, vengeance or allege a rape against them. The present trend strongly suggests that majority of girls have their boy friends, and vice versa, whether higher classes of school, college or office. Wherever the fair sex fails to attain her goal, she is freely encouraged with present Rape Laws to misuse the weapon of rape laws if she so desires.

For the third time in less than a week, the Delhi high court has decried that rape laws are often misused by women.

Flagging the issue in a judgment on Saturday, Justice Kailash Gambhir said rape cases are being used as “a weapon for vengeance and vendetta” to harass and even force a boy to marry.

While granting anticipatory bail to a man facing rape charges from a woman claiming to be his wife, HC added that in many cases woman first has consensual sex but later files rape case against her boyfriend when the relationship breaks up in order to force him to get married, making not only “mockery” of the marriage but also inflating the statistics of rape cases.

“Many of the cases are being reported by those women ,who have consensual physical relationship with a man but when the relationship breaks due to one reason or the other, the women use the law as a weapon for vengeance and personal vendetta to extort money and sometimes even to force the boy to get married to her,” HC said advocating extreme caution to judges who should “cautiously examine the intentions of the girl to find out whether the rape complaint is genuine or has malafide motives”.

Angry Congress workers demanded imposition of President rule in Chhattisgarh in view of the worst attack by Maoists on senior party leaders, thinking that they shall win the heart of Rahul Gandhi by this act, but Rahul Gandhi asked them to keep patience.

On this attack, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh strongly condemned the attack of Maoists and described it as “dastardly” which they inflicted on Congress leaders and workers in Chhattisgarh. The PM also appealed to the attackers to release all the abducted persons immediately.

The Prime Minister also spoke to Chhatisgarh CM Raman Singh and offered him all help to rescue the people and for relief operation.

Describing the incident as “a dastardly and anti-democratic act”, Mr. Singh said, “Government will take firm action against the perpetrators of violence of any kind.”

Holy Sister of Faith, UMR, Sasi Kala expressed all sympathies for Cong. leader VC Shukla and the affected persons on behalf of the Organization and wished speedy recovery of all of them.

The main reason of BJP annonyce is that that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has failed to solve all regional problems., for instance, he has signed an agreement with Bangladesh to hand over Assam’s land to the neighboring country as per BJP state president Sarbananda Sonowal.

Sonowal has said though Mr, Manmohan Singh has been representing Assam in the Rajya Sabha for the last four terms, he failed to address the burning problems of influx from Bangladesh and fencing the border with the neighboring country.

“We are abstaining from the Rajya Sabha polls primarily because we don’t have our candidate. Moreover, we are opposed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s re-nomination,” said Sonowal.

The State BJP president claimed that census reports have been indicating a sharp rise in population in at least 14 districts including those bordering the international border with Bangladesh.

“Infiltration has to be the reason behind this sharp rise in population in these districts. Even as census reports have showed the rise in population, the government has not shown any seriousness in conducting an inquiry.

Sonowal, however, said the BJP will contest in the Guwahati Municipal Commission (GMC) election which is scheduled to be held on June 19.

“We will field candidates in all 31 municipal wards and 90 area sabhas for the municipal polls. The Congress government has miserably failed to solve the problems in Guwahati. Today, Guwahati is one of the dirtiest cities in the country. Guwahati is the gateway to the northeast and yet the Congress government did not bother to improve the condition of the city,” said the BJP president.

He said the candidate list will be finalized by Friday evening and the poll manifesto will be released soon.

It is an admitted fact that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has not seriously done anything for Assam as a member of Rajya Sabha, as such the anger by BJP is justified.

As per AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal, the final 12 would be selected after recommendations of grassroot level workers and selection committee after proper consultation and debate among them. He announced the list of shortlisted candidates.

He said the candidates were selected by ‘candidate screening committee’ co-chaired by Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh. Prominent among the shortlisted candidates are media personality and AAP member Shazia Ilmi from RK Puram and Sisodia himself from Patparganj.

Asked about the funds collected by the party to contest the elections, he said “we have received around Rs two crore in last two months through internet banking and anybody can visit our site to see the list of donors. “We don’t accept any amount from those who want to remain anonymous,” he said.

A proper selection procedure like screening, interviewing and verifying about their criminal antecedents and popularity among locals was followed for the aspirants. “Our focus was to ensure that candidates do not have any criminal case against them, they are honest, having clean image in the locality and no two persons belonging from same family. Similarly, we have tried to discourage nepotism and dynastic politics,” Kejriwal said.

In last assembly election, Congress and BJP had fielded 19 candidates with criminal cases like kidnapping and murder while BSP had 15 such candidates, he said, adding “our attempt is to bring people with clean image and prevent persons with criminal antecedents from entering politics”.

“We had received a total of 106 applications from advocates, journalists, engineers, former defence officials, resident welfare associations office bearers, social activists and supporters from other political parties like Congress and BJP,” Kejriwal said. He claimed one of the candidates was associated with Congress for 25 years while another was active with BJP at divisional level.

In this regard, NCP leader DP Tripathi said today that
N Srinivasan should resign immediately keeping respect for the high sense of morality, at least till the probing is complete.

He further said:

“Match fixing is there from a long time. I believe people involved in match fixing should be punished strictly. People found guilty should be given rigorous punishment of 10 years,” he added.

So far Mr Meiyappan is concerned, he has been summoned by the Mumbai Police to appear before it in connection with the spot-fixing scandal that has hit the latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Actor Vindoo Dara Singh, who was arrested recently for his alleged links with bookies, has told the Mumbai Police that he bet on games on Mr Meiyappan’s behalf, claim sources. Vindoo has also reportedly said that Mr Meiyappan lost Rs. 1 crore in betting.

Both the persons, who were under armed guard in London hospitals after being shot by police at the scene of the attack, were reported to have been well known to the Intelligence. The question has, therefore, arisen how they were reportedly assessed as harmless.

One of the men was identified as Michael Adebolajo, 28, who was believed to have attended meetings of a now-banned Islamist group and reportedly sold extremist leaflets in Woolwich, south London, where the attack had taken place on Wednesday.

It is more or less confirmed now that British police shall interrogate Adebolajo and the other suspect, named as 22-year-old Michael Adebowale; both of them were reported to be the children of Nigerian immigrants.

Adebolajo had reportedly tried to travel to Somalia to fight alongside the country’s Al Shabaab insurgents but had been turned back and his passport was confiscated by the police authority.

As per Army spokesman, the troops had launched an anti-insurgency operation in Buchoo village in Tral area of Pulwama, 40 kms from Srinagar, following a tip off about presence of militants in the area.

“As the troops were laying the cordon around the village, the militants hiding in the nearby forest opened sudden fire, which caused the death of the three jawans.

It is further reported in the media that additional security forces have been rushed to the area and a manhunt has been launched to track down the militants.

There are unconfirmed reports that the militants had fled from the scene along with the service rifles of the slain jawans, latest reports are still awaited.

The 15-year-old victim was alleged to be raped by Varun Bharadwaj alias Chinu, son of fomer SP block head Patanjali Bhardwaj, in Alapur area on December 27, 2010, prosecution counsel Gyan Swaroop Gupta said.

After hearing both the sides, Additional District Judge S N Tripathi held Chinu guilty of raping the girl on Friday, he said:

“Of Rs. One lac imposed as fine, a sum of Rs. 70,000 be given to the victim,” which is a very good gesture taken by the court.

It also directed to lodge an FIR against three persons, including the then station officer of Alapur Pradeep Shukla, for disclosing the identity of the victim.

The Govt. is very harsh about such crimes, and so is the case of Judiciary. Hard punishment is the only way to reduce the crime of rapes and molestations.

Prime Minister David Cameron said on Thursday that Britain would be “absolutely resolute” in confronting terrorism and extremist assaults would “only bring us together”.

While speaking after chairing the emergency Cobra committee, a group of cabinet ministers and high-level security officials that oversees the operations of police and security agencies during high security alerts said:

“The people who did this were trying to divide us, should know something like this will only bring us together and make us stronger.”

“This view is shared by every community in our country. This was not just an attack on Britain and on the British way of life; it was also a betrayal of Islam and of the Muslim communities who give so much to our country.

“There is nothing in Islam that justifies this truly dreadful act,” he said, urging Britons to respond to the attack by going about their normal lives.”

Many NGOs representing Britain’s 2.5 million Muslims condemned the attack, being a sensitive issue.

This includes an announcement of two major annual international awards for scholars of eminence in classical Indian languages.

A Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Languages would be set up. Also, the University Grants Commission (UGC) would be requested to create, initially in the Central Universities, a certain number of professional chairs for classical languages for scholars of eminence in classical Indian languages.

Request to declare Malayalam as a classical language was recommended by the Kerala government and certain NGOs.

The pleas were referred to the Sahitya Akademi which was discussed by the Committee of Linguistic Experts. A meeting of this committee was held in January, 2011.

The members deliberated on the subject and suggested that the Committee of Linguistic Experts may be reconstituted.

Finally, a new panel was constituted and the decision was taken accordingly to benefit the Malayalam language,this decision was overdue.
