London - Britain's Prime Minister Tony Blair has confirmed that terrorists are behind multiple blasts, which targeted London's Underground and several buses today. Two people are reported dead at Aldgate East underground station. The CNN TV has reported that more than ten people are killed at Kings Cross station.

There were simultaneous blasts targeted at least six Underground train stations and three double-decker buses in the city during rush hour in the morning.

Speaking from the Group of Eight meeting in Scotland, Mr Blair called the attacks "barbaric" and said they were coordinated to coincide with the G8 summit.

Scotland Yard said it had reports of blasts at six central London locations on buses and underground trains with the first incident reported at 8.59am (5.59pm AEDT).

Explosions were reported at Edgware Road, King's Cross, Liverpool Street, Russell Square, Aldgate East and Moorgate, Scotland Yard said.

London's entire underground railway network was shut down and hundreds of people streamed onto the street covered in blood and soot.
