Rice cools down on Teheran

London - US Secretary of State Ms Condoleezza Rice today said an attack on Iran over its nuclear programme is "not on the agenda at this point". "We have many diplomatic tools still at our disposal and we intend to pursue them fully," she said after a meeting with British Foreign Secretary Mr Jack Straw. She warned that Iran must not "use the cover" of civilian nuclear power development "to sustain a programme that can lead to a nuclear weapon" lights on Saturday.


UN orders action against officials named in Volcker report:

Pope may make broadcast from hospital this weekend

Pope John Paul II began a fourth day in hospital where the Vatican says he is continuing to recover from an acute respiratory infection, but doubts continue about his real state of health.
