Rome: Pope John Paul II is reported to be in a stable condition after being rushed to hospital overnight fighting for breath.  Millions of Catholics around the world were worried and they went to different churches to pray for their 84-year-old leader.

Vatican assured that there was nothing to be worried now since his condition is stable now.

"The pope will remain in hospital for another few days, though naturally it will be up to the doctors to decide," Vatican spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said.

In an interview with Vatican Radio, Navarro-Valls also sought to reassure Catholics around the world about the pope's condition, reiterating an earlier statement that "there is no reason for alarm".

Tests had shown that the pope's respiration and heart were normal and that he had "a little fever," the spokesman said, a result of the flu that had previously caused him to cancel his usual weekly program.

All members of the SAROUL gathered in New Delhi including Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist from India and Head of the SAROUL, and prayed for the speedy recovery and long life of Pope II.
