New Delhi: June 3, 2008 - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday said dentist Rajesh Talwar, accused of murdering his daughter Arushi and servant Hemraj, was not cooperating with the investigations in the Noida double murder case.
The CBI also indicated that narco-analysis may also be required on Talwar, who was taken to his residence in Noida’s Sector-25 by the investigating agency to understand the sequence of crime.
The agency produced the dentist before the designated court in Ghaziabad and pressed for his further custody, as his questioning was not completed. The court also granted two days custody of Dr. Talwar to the CBI.
Dr. Talwar will be in CBI's custody till June 5.
The CBI also revealed that they had found loopholes in the probe carried out by the UP Police till now.
CBI investigators, who examined the crime scene and questioned witnesses, pointed out that blood samples and fingerprints had not been lifted properly from the crime scene by the UP police.
Senior CBI officials, while remaining silent on the investigations, said the case could have been solved in less than 24 hours if a thorough probe had been carried out by the UP police.
The CBI will complete its first round of questioning on Tuesday. The central agency is also likely to file an FIR in the Hemraj murder case.
Meanwhile, a six-member CBI team visited Haridwar to question the priests who performed Arushi’s last rites.
Arushi was found in her room with her throat slit on May 16 morning, while the body of Hemraj was found on the terrace the next day.
The Noida Police arrested Talwar for the murders, saying he first killed the servant and then his daughter after finding them together in her bedroom on May 15 night in “an objectionable but not compromising position.”
The police also said that he killed her because she had come to know of his extra-marital affair with a colleague and had threatened to expose him.
