New Book discusses life on Mars

New Delhi In the Conference Briefing of SAROUL (Scientific Advance Research of Universe and Life) held here today, there was one main topic of Mars whether there could be any possibility of life on Mars in near future.

European Space Agency's Mars Express spacecraft took some important photographs, which pointed out that there could still be active volcanism on Mars.

The spacecraft snapped some comprehensive observations taken of five Martian volcanoes.  They analyzed that some had exploded by about 4 million years ago, which shows that Mars is even at present geologically active.

With this picture, it can be said that there could be geothermic-vents having heat and liquid, may be water. If it is correctly analyzed, Mars can be a sanctuary for microbial life.

According to NASA High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board ESA's Mars Express spacecraft shows the complex caldera of Olympus Mons on Mars, the highest volcano in our Solar System. It may also offer the best chance to find more geologically recent volcanic activity on Mars.

According to the head of SAROUL, Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist in India as explained in his new book titled 'New Concept of Black Holes' (Under Publication), some excerpts:

"It shall not be possible for the present many generations to read the news of the great event of human settlement over Mars. It is a matter of 1 billion years when the atmosphere on Mars may change in favor of human habitat".

Dr. Raj Baldev agrees with the suggestions of Professor at Berlin's Free University and lead author of a study in Nature magazine that the new images indicate something note worthy.

He feels that "Collapsed volcano-remnants could be active, they may be dormant but not dead. Over and above, Lava  flows from intense volcanic activity within the past 2 million years cannot be overlooked"

Dr. Raj Baldev explained in his coming book "Unless more spacecraft go into orbit and send back their findings, we would not be able rightly to assess the real activity of volcanoes.

"Over and above, it is not water alone that can create life, heat is equally important." He emphasized that  "NASA should consider this aspect in its probing spacecraft.".

"A landing site near a volcano might be possible now, since the airbag technology has been tested and it clicked the result. There are old caldera collapses and there are also new caldera collapses at different locations."

"It creates a definite interest to know that there could be activities both old and new. It shall not be fair to say that the red planet is dead".

"President of India Dr. Abdul Kalam once said that science may enble the humans to settle over Mars very soon and this possibility has shown a beginning and NASA is doing a wonderful job to bring us nearer to the dream."
