NIA demands legal action against Raj Thackeray for anti-national act

Bangalore/New Delhi- India: May 4, 2008 – IR Summary -  BJP President Rajnath Singh Criticised Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray for his anti-north Indian stand and said here today that the people who indulge in politics of casteism and regionalism should have no place in the country's polity. 

"People who indulge in politics of casteism and regionalism should have no place in the country's polity," 

He further said, " Mumbai is the land of Lord Ganesh" and Kashi (in the North) to that of Lord Shiva, he said any person residing in Mumbai or Kashi cannot distance himself from the other place. "Shiva, Parvathi, Ganesh, Shiva are all members of the same family. Nobody should be allowed to indulge in politics of breaking the family."  
Dr. Raj Baldev, Chairman, National Integration Assembly (NIA) here in New Delhi seconded the remarks of BJP President Rajnath Singh and said that the act and  speech of MNS leader Raj Thackeray should be declared anti national and legal action should be taken against him; no one is above the nation and the national unity.
