New Delhi, India: May 4, 2008 - Released by Federation of God Believers on Public Demand– Some excerpts from Series 7 of Tryst with God., In this story it is to be observed how God blesses His devotees, who come across such mysterious protocol at times that they become stunned to see His Grace, how He showers His Blessings silently and unnoticed.
After 5 days of the marriage of Swamy Raj’s sister, there was the great occasion of Lord Krishna’s Birth Day, the event of Janam Ashtami, which is not only celebrated in India but all over the world, where His devotees keep faith in His Godhead. Lord Krishna is considered to be the full fledged incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the Supeme Godhead, and Krishna Consciousness spreads His message all over the globe and it is progressing al1 over in all countries.
Swamy Raj said: “ After five days of my sister’s marriage, the occasion of Janam Ashtami came up.The celebrations of Janam Ashtami were on, the temples all over the country were decorated to the full capacity. It was Janam Ashtami, a great day, the Happy Birth Day of Lord Krishna, the incarnation of Lord Vishnu), which was to be celebrated in all temples of India and abroad, though the activities remain throughout the day, the main theme occurs only at night.
My father placed a suggestion before my mother, who was paralyzed by her lower portion lifeless for 7 years, a disease of group of MND. In fact, it had a mixture of MND and Rheumatism. My father proposed that he had a wish if she could have the physical glimpse of Lord Krishna in the temple in His baby incarnation!
My father told my mother that a thought struck to him that in His baby incarnation, even Lord Krishna was unable to move out of his bed. On this side she could not move out of the bed. He exclaimed himself what a coincidence, though the idea had no relation to each other, it was stimulating his mind again and again. Why that struck him repeatedly? He tried to explain to my mother as to why such thoughts are occurring to him? My father said in the same breath that he was helpless in that regard, but sometimes I feel certain that one day she would surely be able to have the audience of baby Lord Krishna, on Janam Ashtami in a temple?
On the day of Janam Ashtami, a special cradle is decorated with Baby Krishna shown lying in the seat on His birth day, displayed in each and every temple to complete the ceremony of Lord’s auspicious day of taking birth of His Incarnation. Baby Lord Krishna is made to lie down on the richly and softly decorated wooden bed. The cradle is tied with a cord or string and the devotees come in the temple and feel privileged gently to move it, to and fro, and get the blessings of the Lord on that night.
Most of the devotees including women keep fast and only after the birth of the Lord when declared to have taken place, break it with Prasadam (something made of sugar) distributed by the temple authorities.
My father wanted to forget that thought being impractical but someone was forcing him not to abandon that. Who’s that? This way my father couldn’t leave the idea for his wife to have darshan (glimpse) of the Lord in that miserable condition. Why some invisible power was goading him to do that, unable to understand, why he was failing to ignore it? He mentioned the whole tension to his wife, my mother that some spiritual force was definitely pressing his mind to go to temple and try.
Finally, my father went to the Chief Organizer of the temple and sought for his permission to permit his wife, my mother, in that condition to have the audience of Baby Lord Krishna on the night of Janam Ashatmi.?
He tried to convince the Chief Organizer of the temple that he would bring his wife on especially made wheel chair for darshan on the Janam Ashtmi, but he didn’t grant the permission, saying that all other devotees would be disturbed and moreover, the chair could not be carried in the subway created for darshan, even though it was a wheel chair.
My father was disappointed and came home, did not take his meal and went to sleep. He got a dream again at night and the same Saintly Person in yellow dress appeared, it was the saintly man who had suggested my father to arrange the marriage of his daughter as early as possible and had also advised him that his ailing wife should jointly perform the kanya daan, and the marriage was arranged and solemnized as advised by him. It looks unbelievable but I don’t know to express the facts in some other manner, fact is fact, sometime the fact looks to be more strange and a fiction. However, the Saintly Person encouraged my father not to lose heart and try again and then he disappeared, and my father woke up.
My father was tenser with that dream, he told my mother that the same Saintly man in yellow dress had come to his dream advising him not to lose heart and try again.
My father was anxious to know who that Saintly man was and why he repeatedly came to his dream. The first dream had been materialized as advised. Keeping faith in the spiritual dream, my father was continuously thinking how to convince the chief of the temple, who had refused him to allow his wife to have the Lord’s darshan on wheels?
My father suddenly dropped the idea that there would be any use of trying again, the Organizer was tough man and moreover, my father, as I also feel from his genes, never begged of anyone for anything. I am really surprised how he requested the Organizer of the temple? For his wife, he might have sacrificed his principles and was ready to do anything for her? I can only say that he was a perfect man, a complete husband.
On the night of Janam Ashtami, my mother had kept fast as usual and all of a sudden said, “She would go up to the main gate of the temple and pay her obeisance and respect from outside and would wait there till the auspicious birth of the Lord was announced to have taken place, and would then break the fast.”
My father was puzzled, but wanted from the heart that if his wife decided to pay respect to Lord Krishna even at the main gate of the temple, it’s better than never. He became ready to help achieve her goal and also felt happy that by doing that he would also abide by the advice of the Saintly man, who twice met him in two different dreams.
As per program, my father hired a tonga (horse carriage) to carry my mother up to the temple with a contract to bring them back after the temple ceremony was over. The Tonga Driver promised to come back to the temple at about 12-30 at night i.e. 00.30 hrs. after the program ended. As per the contract, the tonga driver brought my father and mother to the temple gate and helped my father to lift the wheel chair from the tonga and put it on the ground and thereafter went away with promise to come back at the fixed time.
On that night before going to temple, my father locked the house and asked all the children including my elder sister, who was recently married, to stay in the neighbor’s house, play and sleep there till they returned from the temple.
My father reached the main gate of the temple and stood by the side of my mother, helpless, praying to Lord Vishnu, and thinking within, “What type of test that was”?
There was enough decorating light fitted by the temple authorities on the complete inner and outer boundaries of the temple walls, so as to give a kingly look of the occasion. It was a great pleasing spectacle view of lights and the devotees flocking to the temple and their reflection on the water curving on the adjoining walls of the temple enhanced the beauty of the occasion and the view was depicting a spiritual touch.
My father was more or less lost in the stunning atmosphere prevailing at that time and was happy to see the people congregating the temple.
He was half attentive to my mother, holding her chair, and on the other side he was absorbed seeing the temple environment of Lord’s decoration on the temple welcoming the devotees entering like an uninterrupted stream with unshaken faith and trust.
After a while, a saintly man in yellow clothes appeared before him all of a sudden apparently seen to be coming from outside and asked my father, what was he doing and why was he not taking his wife inside the temple?
My father tried to recognize the Saintly Person, when he started gazing at him, the Saintly Person interrupted and asked my father not to think anything else. My father was thinking that he was probably the same Saintly Person in yellow dress that had repeatedly come to his dream.
