National Implications of Priyanka’s meeting with Nalini? MIL, Apr 23, 2008. Author: Balaji from New Zealand April 23, 2008 - Both Rahul and Priyanka are in news. Rahul Gandhi for his "Discovery of India" trip and Priyanka Vadra for her meeting with Nalini at Vellore prison on March 19, 2008. The timing is perfect. General elections are due scheduled next year in which the Congress pins high hopes to win, so-called carnation of Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister of India. The sycophants are already chanting his name as future PM. Senior leaders like Pranab Mukherjee, Arjun Singh and veteran leader like M Karunanidhi have already declared Rahul as incarnation of "Prince of Amethi" So this is the breaking news in the Congress camp being discussed in whisper tone among the top leaders, who would not like to be named. The Top Congress Leaders (TCL) anticipate that the new induction of Rahul Gandhi as future PM may become the future news to boost the elections in favour of their party. It is the wishful thinking by the Congress leaders and they have every right to please themselves, but politics is not a simple game and especially the Indian politics, which is complicated at each step. Behind the much hyped news and the debate is the naive approach to politics by both Priyanka Vadra and Rahul Gandhi, which is not presented to the public. So far Priyanka Vadra’s visit to meet Nalini is concerned; it arose many questions. Priyanka visited the woman who was behind the assassination of her father. Nalini is serving a life term for her role in Rajiv Gandhi's assassination. Priyanka has all rights to forgive her father's assassin to make capital out of it through media to get full coverage on her philanthropic act. We sincerely appreciate her efforts and understand her feelings that she underwent as a daughter for all these 17 years. But the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), who is believed to have assassinated Rajiv Gandhi, was not only Priyanka's father but also our own beloved leader whom we had elected out of our extreme love for him, so he had belonged to Priyanka as much as he belonged to all of us whom the LTTE assassinated and hurt our sentiments and injured our feelings. Priyanka Vadra doesn't need to ask them what made them to assassinate her father, who was a nice person and innocent? Since Priyanka is a big name in politics being the daughter of Sonia Gandhi, she should read the history of our country and try to understand certain backgrounds. Rajiv Gandhi's so-called miscalculation, which led to his assassination, was that he had ordered to send the Indian armed troops to Srilanka as an initiative of Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF). The IPKF alleged atrocities against women had triggered anger among the LTTE and fearing of many such moves in future, they decided to assassinate Rajiv Gandhi in an election rally on May 21, 1991. It was a cold-blooded murder committed in mid-night and an act of terrorism which no patriotic citizen of this country can ever forgive or forget. What Priyanka Vadra all needs to do is to ask the ordinary Tamilians in Tamil Nadu? They have traditionally supported the LTTE and their fellow-Tamilians cause in Srilanka. But after Rajiv Gandhi's assassination, they withdrew their support to the former. Just because, they could not tolerate the act of terror committed by the LTTE, and that too in their own state, sorry in their own country. They feel that LTTE had assassinated their own former Prime Minister and that comes out of their love for their motherland. If Priyanka understands this in the national spirit, sh’ll feel satisfied in terms of getting an answer that she tried to seek from Nalini. They are proud of it. They don't complain. Imagine the daughters and wives of Delhi Police personnel Shri Nanak Chand, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Shri Rampal, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Shri Om Prakash, and Head Constable asking Afzal Guru why their beloved ones were killed? Afzal Guru is serving sentence for master-minding the December 13, 2001 attacks on Indian Parliament. The police personnel laid their lives to protect the lives of our MPs that included Priyanka Vadra or Priyanka Gandhi's own mother. Priyanka Vadra should preferably go to the wives, daughters of the police personnel and ask them what they feel about? It wasn't personal and neither had they initiated any so-called personal visit to visit Afzal Guru. They were proud that the sacrifice of their beloved ones was for the national cause. When you probably enter their houses they might not be in a position to offer you a chair to sit and offer cup of tea with milk. We ordinary citizens owe them and so probably you. Priyanka needs to know who is Kamlesh Kumari? She is not Indira Gandhi but in patriotism and sacrifice she is not less than Priyanka Gandhi's grandmother. Kamlesh Kumari was a woman Constable of Central Reserve Police force who thought to protect the lives of the MP's of our country and that’s more important than her own life. She was also the person who was killed on the fateful day of December 13, 2001. I also sincerely apologize for not being able to include the names of security personnel who have in other instances laid their lives of their mother land, and so ordinary citizens, because the list is quite long, may be endless.
