Vellore: April 20, 2008 – IR Summary- Nalini’s husband Murugan, refused to see his wife on Saturday at Vellore Central Prison for the reason why she met Priyanka on March 19, daughter of Rajiv Gandhi.

This is considered second time in a row that he refused to meet her. Otherwise Murugan and Nalini used to meet every foqrtnight. Nalini’s husband Murugan, on death row for the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, refused to meet his wife on Saturday afternoon at Vellore Central Prison.

Why Murugan is angry with Nalini and why he did not want Priyanka to meet his wife in the jail, he knows better but as per report by J. Shanmughasundaram:

"Murugan looked disappointed after meeting his wife on March 22, three days after the Priyanka meeting," prison sources told newindpress.com.

"Normally the meeting lasts 45 minutes, but Murugan cut it short and walked out." The next meeting was slated for April 5, but Murugan declined to go. "Nalini waited for him but he did not turn up," prison sources revealed the fact.

Why is Murugan upset? Some say it has to do with a book he is reportedly writing about the assassination. It is said that this book may contain details which would make certain VIPs uncomfortable, and that Priyanka’s visit was actually connected to the book.

Nalini and Murugan’s lawyer, S. Doraiswamy, however, said he had no knowledge of the book. "I met Murugan last in December 2006," he told Express, "but he said nothing about a book." Doraiswamy added that Murugan was studying in jail, but that his subject was computer science.

The lawyer did not know why Murugan was upset, but said the couple often quarreled when they met during the trial. "They would stop talking for weeks, and then suddenly resume again," Doraiswamy said.
