Islamabad, Pakistan: January 1, 2008 - IR Summary -The Pakistan government has admitted that their theory of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto that she died after striking her head against the sunroof lever of her SUV was wrongly assessed and released and rendered  apology for that.

"The caretaker government of Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro on Monday apologized for the comment made by the Interior Ministry spokesman that Bhutto had died because she hit the lever of her bullet-proof Land Cruiser on the fateful (Dec 27) evening," The News reported on Tuesday.

There was an error is assessment of her death, which the govt. sincerely apologized.  An other immediate reason for releasing the theory to the media was that the provocation and anger of the people who were committing acts of looting and arsons was to be checked and controlled.

Had Pakistan not released that unconfirmed statement immediately, there would have been more damage to the country in terms of looting and blazing the property, an officer said in anonymity.

The Interior Minister Lt Gen. (retd) Hamid Nawaz explained to the media and the people that their error of unconfirmed statement should be fogiven and forgotten.

Soomro said that he was just relating the facts that had been presented to him, especially about the cause of death. "We are conducting an investigation and all TV footage, all evidence, that would be available will help in reaching a definite conclusion," Soomro maintained.
