Bengal’s Aneek Dhar wins ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’

October 16, 2007 – The best three finalists of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa thrilled the audience as well the whole world. It was a very difficult task to distinguish who was the best. Amanat Ali from Pakistan got maximum votes from International voters but he became the 2nd runner. West Bengal’s Aneek Dhar emerged as the winner beating his nearest Raj Hassan of Rajashtan. 

The competition was so tough that till the last moment, more guesses were towards Raj Hassan than Aneek Dhar but some of the marvelous songs sung by Aneek compelled the public from India and abroad to vote for him and he won it. Aneek received over 36 million votes from over 100 countries.

Each finalist got a voice of their own type, the best and the most melodious, particularly that of Amanat Ali from Pakistan.

Aneek won a Rs.5-million contract with Universal Music and a Chevrolet Spark car at the grand finale of the show "Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge - Sangeet ka Pratham Vishwayudh" on Saturday night.

After his win, an overwhelmed Aneek hugged his mentor musician Himesh Reshammiya and said: "Sir I love you." Himesh Reshammiya was his moving spirit that made Aneek hero, rather darling of the Sangeet Lovers all over.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar announced the much-awaited results and General Motors' Ankush Arora handed over the car keys, while Puneet Goenka of Zee TV gave Aneek the trophy.

The final show at the Andheri sports complex here was studded with stars, actors Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, singers Udit Narayan and Sudesh Bhosle along with the five judges - Vishal-Shekhar, Reshammiya, Ismail Darbar and Bappi Lahiri graced the event.

Akshay rocked the event as he performed to the popular title song from his recent release Bhool Bhulaiyaa. (IR Summary).

Vidya, looking graceful in a black sari, announced the name of the second runner up, Amanat Ali, who got over 34 million votes.

"I never thought that I will reach the final three. I'm thankful to all the audiences across the globe who have voted for me and helped me in reaching here," said Amanat, whose entire family was present at the event.

Poonam Yadav, one of the 13 finalists who were eliminated, received the 'Spark of the Show' title. She won Chevrolet Spark car and US-based contestant Mouli was adjudged the best performer of the show.

Leading actors from TV serials, including Rajshree Thakur, Sharad Malhotra and Amrita Prakash, also attended the gala show.

Debojeet Saha, who had won the "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" title in 2005, also gave a performance recalling the memory of the people.
