How Left became soft in their stand in Indo-US Deal?

New Delhi, October 12, 2007- IR Summary - Atomic Energy Agency Chief Mohamed Elbaradei gave a clarification of Safeguards agreement. He elucidated that an India-specific safeguards agreement is a “non issue” since India has already four such agreements with them.
Elbaradei tried to explain that Safeguards Agreement is a routine matter, this is a standard procedure which is usually adopted and this is the reason that there are already four such agreements with India.
Elbaradei, therefore, felt shocked on the demand of the Left Party since it was not for the first time that India had agreed.
Elbaradei is to address the HT Leadership Summit today. But his topic is clear, he as an IAEA Chief said that the matter of Indo-US Deal is between the Govt. and its coalition party.
However, he was sure that Left party would study the issue properly and then take their decision.
Elbaradei’s clarification was indirect with implied meaning that four such safeguards agreements already exist signed by India, known to every party, there looks to be no apparent reason why the Left party is ignoring this fact? And this may be the reason for the Left Party to be soft on Indo-US Deal, an indirect suggestion by Elbaradei.
