Will Pratibha Patil win the Presidential election?

New Delhi, June 23, 2007 (Saturday) - President A.P.J.Adbul Kalam has withdrawn his idea of joining the race for the office of the President of India. He gave his consent for the second term as President just as a courtesy of friendly gesture to the senior leaders of the third front who he did not like to disrespect; there was nothing else otherwise as per the close sources in anonymity.
Even the condition of ‘certainty’ placed by the President was an excuse and a sort of respect that Kalam wanted to extend to the senior leaders who called on him.
President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, infact, is very happy and feels satisfied with his one term, which he has performed excellently and without any blot on his exalted personality.
Now Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat is back as an independent candidate supported by the NDA who will face Pratibha Patil, the UPA’s nominee in the Presidential election. Though numerically the UPA is confident their candidate would win by a big margin but who knows?
The reports which are coming against Pratibha Patil like one Rajni Patil, widow of the murdered leader V.N.Patil, from Jalgaon in Maharashtsra, has exposed her before the Media. She alleged that the UPA-Left alliance are shielding her brother, G.N.Patil, who is prime accused in the case being probed by the CBI.
Simply by denying, the UPA cannot play with the blind the voters, there are certain heavy weight eligible voters in the UPA camp who can well understand that Pratibha is not a blotless personality, directly or indirectly and if they go by their conscience, the results may not please Sonia Gandhi!
There is an other matter of Jalgaon Sugal Factory, alleged to be floated by Pratibha Patil, UPA’s candidate for Presidential election, which has a long default of repayment of loan of Rs. 17.7 Crore to which the Mumbai Central District Cooperative Bank has already issued a notice.
This notice was issued before the name of Paratibha Patil was proposed for the Presidential election.
Please wait and watch, how the things develop?
On the other side, NDA is trying to persuade the third front leaders to support their candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and if they successfully do, there is left a small margin of numbers which the defaulters from Congress may fulfill the gap.
