January 17, 2007  London's Madame Tussauds's will honor Bollywood film star Shah Rukh Khan with a wax replica in recognition of his immense contribution to Hindi cinema. Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly given his consent.

It seems that Shah Rukh Khan loves to follow Amitabh Bachchan footsteps. First came the remake of Don, followed by Kaun Banega Crorepati and now he will be part of London's Madame Tussaud's wax celebrities.

SRK will become the third Indian film star, after Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, to be so honored by the world famed wax mueseum. Aishwarya Rai's replica in the museum is clad in a pink sari while that of Amitabh Bachchan is dressed in a designer outfit by Abu Jaani and Sandeep Khosla.

Shah Rukh Khan, 41, is known for superhits such as Devdas, Veer-Zaara, Main Hoon Na. He started his film career in 1992 with Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. Since then he acted in over 45 films and won a total of 29 awards. He has won Film Fare's Best Actor award an astounding 7 times.

SRK’s wax statue will be unveiled in March. According to sources, the authorities at Madame Tussauds contacted Shah Rukh through a close aide and he was happy to have his wax statute designed for the museum. Shah Rukh himself will be present at the unveiling of the statute.
