December 29, 2006 - Chasing 354 to win the second Test against South Africa, India are 18 for one at tea on the fourth day at Kingsmead, Durban on Friday.
Virender Sehwag continued his dismal run of form, edging a Makhaya Ntini delivery to Graeme Smith at first slip for eight.
Earlier, the hosts declared their second innings at 265 for eight, a total lead of 353 runs owing to the 88-run first innings lead.
The morning session turned out to be a high adrenaline period. Resuming on the overnight score of 64 without loss, South Africa lost six wickets for the addition of 128 runs with S Sreesanth picking up three of them.
VRV Singh got the breakthrough for the Indians as he sent back opener AB de Villiers for 48, caught by VVS Laxman. New batsman Hashim Amla followed him back to the pavilion soon after, lbw to S Sreesanth for naught.
Meanwhile, South Africa skipper Graeme Smith (58 runs) brought up his 15th Test fifty. He smashed Sreesanth for two consecutive boundaries but the bowler exacted his revenge with the third delivery as it dismantled the woodwork.
Ashwell Prince, who has been a thorn in the side for the Indians through both the Tests, failed as the Kerala pacer had him caught by Sourav Ganguly for a duck in the same over.
Anil Kumble dismissed Herschelle Gibbs for nine and Zaheer Khan then trapped Mark Boucher leg before wicket for eight.
In the post-lunch session Andrew Hall, who put on 70 runs with Pollock, was trapped lbw by Sreesanth for 21. Morkel and Pollock also put on 52 runs before the debutante was caught by VRV Singh off a Virender Sehwag delivery for 27.
Pollock was not out on 63; his 99-ball knock included 10 boundaries
