Sonia Gandhi to file nomination papers for Rae Bareli seat on Monday

As Congress president Sonia Gandhi is to file her nomination papers on Monday. The focus has shifted to by-election for Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat where polling will take place on May 8. Sonia Gandhi had resigned her seat on the ground of office of profit.
She will be accompanied by her son Rahul and daughter Priyanka on Monday when she files her nomination papers.
Her son-in-law Robert Vadra, former Union Minister Satish Sharma, Party General Secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh affairs Ashok Gehlot and UPCC President Salman Kursheed is also likely to accompany her when she visits her constituency for filing her papers.
The AICC President would arrive here from New Delhi on Monday morning and leave by road for Rae Bareli. Preparations were on for her welcome all through the route. She would also visit the party offices in Ratapur, Ghosiyana Malimmau Lohia Kothi and Union Bank Crossing enroute to the district collectorate to file her papers.
Gandhi was scheduled to return for New Delhi the same day, Singh said in a statement. The Congress chief aide K L Sharma has been camping in Rae Bareli for the past two days to make preparations for the visit.
