New Delhi - As a result of holding office of profit by Sonia Gandhi and many other MPs, the President Abdul Kalam had forwarded the petitions to the Election Commission to take proper note of and to give recommendations as such.
This created a great hue and cry in the political circle. BJP said that they confirmed that Sonia Gandhi and all other MPs, who names have been forwarded to the Election Commission are illegally holding the office of profit and should be disqualified.
On breaking up of this news, the Congress and its allies made a plan to go for an ordinance to plug this loophole once for all. This plan forced BJP and other political parties more alert and actively serious to determined their reaction that the Constitution of India should not be allowed to be disregarded or downgraded in any manner, whatsoever.
An urgent meeting was held at Sonia Gandhi's residence i.e. 10 Janpath whether Mrs. Sonia Gandhi resigned from the seat of Lok Sabha as well as Council. She also declared that she would fight from the Rai Bareilly and said that she did the right thing by resigning. She also said, "I am not interested to keep my personal interests over the political intrests.".
International Reporter had given a hint that Jaya Bachchan's disqualification from the Rajay Sabha shall also apply to Sonia Gandhi and other MPs and they shall have to go.
Many more resignations are expected including that of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha Mr. Somnath Chatterjee. This episode shall go a long way, time shall tell how many more shall be roped in.
