Eleanor Hall - Melbourne's Commonwealth Games are only days away now, but there are still 400,000 tickets available for sale. It looks the viewers have little interest in the games or the organizers went late in making the tickets available in time.
As per report, nervous organizers gave away 5,000 tickets only yesterday for the opening ceremony. But keeping in view the time and interest of the people the venue is not likely to be filled to the full capacity.
Though Victoria's Commonwealth Games Minister Justin Madden denies that Games organizers are desperate to try and fill empty seats, the evidence suggests that they are worried.
He says another 22,000 premium tickets are already on sale today and they were initially reserved for visiting dignitaries who won't be in Melbourne for the Games.
