New Delhi - B B Tandon,Chief Election Commissioner announced the dates for Assembly elections to be held in the following states: Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Tripura, Pondicherry, West Bengal, Mahe and Yanam adjoining Andhra Pradesh.
Assembly elections in Assam shall be held in two phases on April 3 and 10.
Elections for West Bengal Assembly would be held in five phases on April 17, 22, 27, May 3 and 8.
Tamil Nadu and Tripura shall have a one-day poll on May 8. A three-phased elections will be held for Kerala Assembly on April 22, 29 and May 3.
Pondicherry shall have one-day poll on May 8 except in Mahe adjoining Kerala and Yanam adjoining Andhra Pradesh on May 3.
Counting of votes in all the states is scheduled to take place on May 11.
