North Korea conditionally accepts to participate in six-party talks MIL/Agencies, Jun 18, 2005. Special Correspondent SINGAPORE: North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il has finally said on Friday that he was willing to rejoin the stalled six-party talks on its nuclear-weapons program, most probably the next month but on certain conditions. Mr. Kim told the visiting South Korean Unification Minister, Chung Don-young, in Pyongyang that the parleys, in abeyance for about a year now, could be resumed "if the United States becomes ready to honorably recognize the status of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)," its official name. This news has given a relief to the world tension. There is every likelihood that North Korean move shall satisfy the six-party talks.The six parties comprise two Koreas, China the host, U.S.A., Russia and Japan.
