Rane sworn in as Goa Chief Minister with two allies

Panaji: Pratapsinh Rane was sworn in as the 16th Chief Minister of Goa by Governor S C Jamir on Tuesday. Rane was administered the oath at Raj Bhavan at a proper ceremony attended by Congress and opposition BJP leaders both.
Two ministers, one each from the party's allies NCP and MGP were also included in the oath ceremony to take their oath.
NCP president Wilfred Dsouza and lone MGP MLA Ramakrishna Dhavalikar were appointed as ministers in the cabinet.
According to PTI, when asked if he had been appointed as Rane's deputy, Dsouza said, "I think so." He also stressed that another party MLA in the house -- Mikky Pacheco -- also "had to be accommodated" in the cabinet.
Rane, declined to give his comments after the ceremony. He simply said that he would address a press conference later in the day.
AICC General Secretary and Goa incharge Margaret Alva, PCC chief Ravi Naik, former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and all BJP MLAs attended the ceremony.
Parrikar gave his best wishes to the newly formed government and prayed that it may stay long in the interest of the Goan people.
