New Delhi/Chandigarh- The BBCI has welcomed the ICC decision to clear Indian Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh of the charge of bowling action. Harbhajan Singh's fans that gathered in Jallandhar and Ludhiana raised slogans in favor of Harbhajan Singh and ICI.
In Amritsar, some cricket fans took out a procession in favor of Harbhajan Singh in Hall Bazar and welcomed the green signal given to him for bowing in international matches.
According to South India World, the BBCI termed the decision as 'Cricket-friendly'.
Not only Harbhajan, but players of other countries will be benefited by the ICC stand," BCCI secretary S K Nair told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram. Nair said the BCCI firmly believed that no bowler should be allowed to throw in matches. But if the ICC could not prima facie prove that a bowler's action was suspect, he should be allowed to bowl.
He said the BCCI had all along been supporting Harbhajan Singh who first underwent a test at the University of Western Australia under John Elliot and then in England under Marc Portus.
