NIA vows to serve HIV/AIDs affected people with more speed
MIL/Agencies, May 11, 2005. Special Correspondent
New York - The figure of HIV/AIDS affected people in India is disputed. The govt. says that it is about 5.1 million but others say that it is about 10 million. The NIA claims that the figure of the HIV/AIDS affected people is about 11 million, since the Indians are hesitant in their own states to come forward for such a survey. They prefer to hide the disease rather than getting it cured for various family reasons.
NIA Executive has decided to accelerate its services to the HIV/AIDS affected people as quickly as possible since the disease is spreading at a drastic speed and it shall not be possible either for the Govt. or for the NGOs to tackle them effectively if the speed of serving them is not improved.
