Is Your Computer Really Protected?
Agencies, Feb 25, 2005.
No matter how many sophisticated anti-virus, anti hacking devises and software we install in our computer, truth is that computer security is still very weak for home users who cannot afford expensive custom made software that filters out the hackers! The truth is your data and PC is not really protected.
If you use email, its spam you need to worry about and most spam free email services are not free. You pay for premium service.
If you surf the net then the absolutely annoying pop-up windows keep on irritating the end user, many of who install cookies in your computer so your computer can now be tracked!! Solution, keep on deleting your cookies regularly. Its easy. Go to Tools tab on your internet explorer and then internet options. Use the 'Delete cookies' box that appears to delete all those annoying bugging cookies.
Still Spyware is a tough spy which masquerades as a prize-notification pop-up window, also makes your computer slow and aged.
If you recieve email with no or weird messages better to delete the messages then read them. It is probably a virus! Yes, despite your sophisticated anti virus detection software.
No wonder that computer security where your data is extremely vulnerable to hackers has become the biggest IT issue with companies spending billions. However the advantages usually trickles down to corporate houses and not an end user in a home. At the same time, hackers and spammers get smarter as the security becomes tougher!
