Mumbai, India: November 26, 2008 – IR Summary/Agencies -  The controversy which had erupted between Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om and its Director Farah Khan related to Mr. Manoj Kumar, one of the old seasoned Actors/Directors, had practically ended when all of them had called on Mr. Manoj when he invited them on a dinner, and there were very pleasant talks conducted and sweet words exchanged between them, and there looked to be no more unpleasantness about Mr.Manoj Kumar, who had alleged that his character was maligned in the picture.

What happened thereafter is unfortunate.  A local court has issued notices to Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan and Om Shanti Om director Farah Khan today asking them to be present in the court on February 22, next year, in connection with an application moved by veteran actor Manoj Kumar.

Mr Kumar contended in the application that the trio failed to comply with the court's earlier order, directing them to delete certain objectionable portions in the film, which showed him in poor light and maligned his image.

Mr. Shah Rukh Khan is a respectable and mature personality, who would not do such a blunder to disobey any court order. There might have been some misunderstanding.

It would have been a great gesture if Mr. Manoj Kumar, who commands great respect of the yester years, would have ignored it, since his reputation has come down by approaching the court rather than uplifted. Mr. Manoj Kumar is a great personality and no small discrepancies of any film can mar his image.

Earlier, a local Andheri court had issued summons against the trio directing them to remain present in the court today. Manoj Kumar had filed a petition in the session court seeking stay of telecast of the film on Sony Entertainment  Television.
