India wants to play with full potential: Dhoni

MIL/TOI, Nov 26, 2008

Cuttack, India: November 26, 2008 – IR Summary/TOI -  The game between India and England has become more interesting after India has already won series 4-0, but there is a rumor that some Indian player said that they would make the series 7-0 but  Dhoni, after winning the toss, said, "We are not thinking about 7-0, we thinking just about this game, but we will be looking to play to our full potential."

Captain  Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood took England to 105/2 in 20 overs in the fifth One-dayer being played at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack.Pietersen and Collingwood steadied the England ship somewhat after Zaheer Khan made early inroads by taking two wickets.

Pietersen has raced to 40 off 42 balls with 7 hits to the fence while Collingwood has laboured to 17 off 30 balls.

Zaheer dismissed Ravinder Bopara (24) to reduce England to 68/2 in 10 overs when he had the England opener caught at backward point by Yuvraj Singh. Bopara hit three fours in his knock.

Earlier, Zaheer got India the first breakthrough when Alistair Cook (10) chased a wide delivery and edged to first slip for Sachin Tendulkar to take the catch.

Before that, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and invited England to bat first.

Reacting to media reports that India would be aiming for a 7-0 series whitewash, Dhoni, after winning the toss, said, "We are not thinking about 7-0, we thinking just about this game, but we will be looking to play to our full potential."

Pietersen said he is surprised India chose to field, "We would have batted first. We would look to get a score of 250-260."

For India, Irfan Pathan comes in for Munaf Patel and Gautam Gambhir has been replaced by Rohit Sharma.

England too have made two changes, Cook replaces Ian Bell, and Steve Harmison comes in for James Anderson.

The pitch has more grass than the ones used in the previous One-dayers of this series and indications are it could be a bit two-paced as well.

Yuvraj Singh needs 113 runs to complete 1000 runs in the calendar year.

England have played 4 matches at the stadium out of which they have won 3 and lost 1.

Their current bashing is a reminder of England's last series in India two years ago when the seven-match series was won by India with a 5-1 margin after Guwahati One-dayer was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Teams:

India: Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Captain), Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma.

England: Alistair Cook, Ravinder Bopara, Owais Shah, Kevin Pietersen (Captain), Andrew Flintoff, Paul Collingwood, Matt Prior, Samit Patel, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, Steve Harmison.
