Chennai, India;  November 13, 2008 – IR Summary/Agencies - Speaker R Avudiyappan ordered the eviction of AIADMK members after repeated warning. The opposition members had created disturbance over the incidents of violence at Dr. Ambedkar Law College on Wednesday wherein two groups clashed.

The reference to Jayalalithaa sparked off protests from AIADMK MLAs, who were on their feet raising slogans against the minister, causing uproar in the House.

Duraimurugan was reacting to AIADMK's D Jayakumar who demanded resignation of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi owning responsibility for Wednesday's incident as he held the Home portfolio also.

The MDMK, AIADMK's ally walked out, following eviction of AIADMK members. The AIADMK has 60 members in the 234-member House.

Seven persons were arrested and two police officials including an ACP were suspended in connection with the incidents.
 
The trouble started in the House, when Law Minister Duraimurugan, while replying to a special call attention motion on this issue by various parties, asked the AIADMK members why their leader Jayalalithaa kept quiet when some persons allegedly owing allegiance to AIADMK set fire to a bus, killing three students of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University some years back.
