Mumbai: November 10, 2008, IR Summary/Agencies -  The prosecution on Monday has approached the Bombay High Court challenging the Kalyan Sessions Court how the interim relief was granted to MNS Chief Raj Thackeray .

The prosecution has challenged the interim relief granted to Raj in his anticipatory bail application, claiming it to be "illegal", as Raj's custody was transferred to Kalyan railway police.

"Once Raj's custody has been transferred to the railway police in another case, the sessions court cannot grant him relief in that matter. The relief should have been granted by the Kalyan railway court," special public prosecutor Rohini Salian said.

Raj was produced before the Kalyan sessions court in connection with the attack allegedly by MNS activists on north Indians who had arrived there to appear for a railway recruitment board exams as per Agency reports.
