July 27, 2008 -Mamu Aamir Khan shook a leg here, but no, he wasn’t with his nephew Imran.
On the contrary, imitating his steps on the podium was child actor Darsheel Safary. The two were at Darsheel’s school, along with music mogul Bhushan Kumar, musician trio Shankar Mahadevan, Loy Mendonsa and Ehsaan Noorani and actress Tisca Chopra, all part of Aamir’s movie starring Darsheel.
The DVD of the film was brought out amidst fun and dance, when Aamir and Darsheel did a li’l jig, but at the end of it all, there was a serious message too — Aamir spoke to the children about the perils of piracy and that the same should be curbed.
“When we download a movie or music illegally, it is like stealing,” he told the enthusiastic children. Producer Sanjiv Bijli and Kiran Bajaj, Principal of the school, were also present on the occasion.
