Mangalore, June 25, 2008 - Kailaru Ganapathi Bhat whose 'Moolika Vana', a garden of medicinal plants in Uppinangady is well-known, said that like other diseases, mother nature has provided a natural cure for diabetes too. He has initiated a camapaign to educate people suffering from diabetes to switch over to the naturally available remedy, which he claims is safe, devoid of side affects and improves body's resistance against diseases.
Speaking at a press conference here recently, Bhat said the 'Costus Ignaus' plant which has it's origines in South Africa has been found to be the best remedy for diabetes. A diabetes patient can ward off ill affects of diabetes by just consuming one or two leaaves of this plant every day, he says.
The number of leaves to be consumed can be decided taking into account blood sugar levels of the patient. Even the leaves used in powder form is found to be affective, he said, stressing that using green leaves is the better option.
