Mumbai : May 26, 2008 - Film financer and producer Jhamu Sugandh, who was behind the making of hit movies like "Lagaan", Hum Dil De Chukey Sanam" and "Rangeela", died of massive cardiac arrest at a hospital here on Monday morning.
Sugandh (57) suffered the stroke at 0300 hours after which he was admitted to a private hospital where he died at 1000 hours, the producer's brother Harish Sugandh said here. He is survived by a son and daughter. The funeral took place in the evening at Juhu in suburban Mumbai.
In a career spanning nearly 25 years in showbiz, Sugandh produced and financed films like 'Rangeela', 'Bombay', 'Hindustani', 'Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi', 'Daud', 'Chachi 420', 'Filhaal', 'Aks', 'Khubsoorat' and 'Earth'. He also produced a few Bengali films including 'Swapner Din'.
