People may not approve risky Gas Pipeline from Iran
MIL/Ed., May 4, 2008. IR Summary

New Delhi, India: May 4, 2008 -  It is not only the opinion of American Experts that the  proposed Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline is "absolutely infeasible" but also the Indians as per opinion poll gathered by International Reporter stand with the American Experts.

The survey supports that neither the time is friendly, nor India can politically rely on Pakistan and Iran. In the opinion poll, the people do not want India to take this risk, which is neither practical nor reliable.

It is a highly risky proposition in the areas of finance, political and security. Moreover, Iran and Pakiatan may face great difficulties first to get the pipe line and secondly to give a guarantee to India about its security arrangements, which is next to impossible. To rely on this Gas Pipeline from Iran  politically shall be the biggest miscalculation and may put the nation at a higher risk.

Whatever the opinion Indian people hold, American experts also hold the same opinion. The security concern is very high and cannot be ignored.

See what the American experts say:

"None of the three countries involved in the talks has the resources to fund the pipeline. There are serious security concerns, especially because it passes through Baluchistan in Pakistan. Virtually no public or private consortiums would want to build it because there is now also the issue of Iran's nuclear quest," Christine Faire, a senior political scientist at the think tank Rand Corporation, told reporters.
Whatever Indian leaders may think, but the Indian people are against this proposal and International Reporter opposes it with full strength. The Chief Editor said,” The Indians are angry within and when their feelings come out, the Congress will lose the upcoming elections.
