Galaxies at times disobey Universal law: Dr. Raj Baldev MIL/UT, Jan 11, 2008. R.Bhambhani Albuquerque, January 11, 2008 – R. Bhambhani seeks some clarifications from Dr. Raj Baldev, famous Cosmo Theorist from India, and the author of Two Big Bangs Created the Universe. Q. R.Bhambhani: Dr. Raj Baldev, would you please shed some light on the rotation of galaxies and their spiral arms? Dr. Raj Baldev answers the question: “It has been generally believed that the galaxies rotate and their twisting arms usually sweep back, trailing behind the rotation of the galaxy. In fact, this rule does not apply to all. Some galaxies may disobey the law and it has recently been observed by astronomers. "The astronomers have found that a particular galaxy known as NGC 4622, around 200 million light years away in the Centaurus constellation, goes otherwise. " Its arms are opening outward in the same direction of the rotation of the galaxy’s disk. A team of American astronomers have analyzed its images and discovered that it has a previously hidden inner counter clockwise pair of spiral arms.” It shall be appropriate if I quote Dr. Gene Byrd from the University of Alabama, who said: "Contrary to conventional wisdom, with both an inner counter-clockwise pair and an outer clockwise pair of spiral arms, NGC 4622 must have a pair of leading arms," "With two pairs of arms winding in opposite directions, one pair must lead and one pair must trail. Which way is which depends on the disk's rotation. Alternatively, the inner counter clockwise pair must be the leading pair if the disk turns counter clockwise." “More observations are awaited, since the images from the Hubble Space Telescope has revealed a dark dust lane in the centre of the galaxy. This suggests that NGC 4622 might have consumed a smaller companion galaxy, and this could help explain where the additional spiral arms came from.”
