Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India: December 22, 2007 -IR Summary -Whether Narendra Modi shall win, 100 million dollar question is hanging in the minds of the country. Not only BJP but also Congress and Left Party are equally interested to know the results. 

As per experts in this field, the counting of votes polled in the assembly elections in the state will shall take place on Sunday, with special security measures.  The counting is to be held simultaneously at 37 places in the State to start from 8 AM and the results are likely to start coming before noon.

Political parties are anxiously awaiting the outcome of all the 182-member assembly as it could have a bearing on the national political scene, what with the Left parties threatening to withdraw support to the UPA Government on the Indo-US nuclear deal, triggering speculation about the possibility of an early Lok Sabha poll. 

To go back and to make the people recall that it was virtually a straight contest between the BJP and the Congress in the State, which went to the polls in two phases. In the first phase, the polling was held in 87 constituencies on December 11 and in the second phase,  95 constituencies went to the polls on December 16.

People do not believe in exist polls but want the real results, which shall start pouring from tomorrow.

It is reported that heavy betting has been put on Modi to win, crores of rupees have been put to this political betting in Ahmedabad and other places in Gujarat.
