Bangalore, Karnataka, India: MIL - IR Summary- BJP Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa lost the game in the assembly here today; because he found himself unable to prove his majority and tendered his resignation to the Governor after JD(S).
The week-old BJP government in Karnataka fell since its ally JD(S) backed out by dishonoring their word of support. They wanted some conditions to be fulfilled before supporting the government, even though the BJP had promised them, they used blackmailing tactics, really it is one of the worst example in Karnataka politics.
One thing is clear that Janata Dal (S) led by former Prime Minister Deve Gowda and his son and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy apparently seem to have no moral standing, they changed their stand several times and ditched BJP at the eleventh hour and withdrew their support.
There could not possibly be worse state of affairs and the game of eating words as exhibited by Janta Dal (S). BJP leaders should be happy to know that they got rid of one of the most unreliable partners like JD (S) who could have cheated them at any important issue as they have done today.
The political image of BJP is higher today by resigning the Chief Ministership of Karnataka rather than submitting to the blackmail tactics of JD (S).
The BJP leaders and their supporters both feel that the new development must raise their stature in the eyes of the public at large, who have known the difference of the moral functioning of both.It is in fact a moral defeat of Janata Dal (S) and not BJP.
