Bangalore: November 8, 2007 – IR Summary -Two-year child Lakshmi, born with a partially formed twin, giving her four arms, four legs and four kidneys, was to undergo critical surgery on 09 November , 2007 in a super-specialty Hospital in Bangalore, is said to be fine and stable as per doctors.
The long surgery was undertaken to remove the extra organs. Hence, Lakshmi was to undergo a complicated and serious procedure of surgery for separating her from her parasitic conjoined twin, a rare feat ever perform by any team of doctors before anywhere in the world.
"Lakshmi is fine and stable. She was able to move her hands and feet slowly a couple of times as per doctors. She is also able to open eyes. She is still feeling drowsy. She is on the recovering stage," Sparsh Hospital chairman and chief orthopaedic surgeon Sharan Patil told IANS.
A medical team is still monitoring her health condition round the clock.
