Comments on the interview of Benazir Bhutto that she gave to CNN that Musharraf lacks ability to handle Nuke arsenals:.
I would just draw your kind attention: Dr. Raj Baldev, there is a report from Washington that the Opposition Leader and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto told CNN on Monday that she has certain doubts on Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's ability to prevent extremists from getting hold of the country's nuclear arsenal, what would you like to say as a Man of Peace and International Understanding?
Dr. Raj Baldev: “So far my opinion goes, Benazir Bhutto’s calculation or assessment about Parvez Musharraf seems to be a politically motivated.
“Bhutto has shown her apprehension that what happens in Pakistan will affect the lives of the people of Pakistan. She has expressed here fear that since Pakistan is a nuclear-armed country, facing a threat from a radicalization and terrorists, whatever happens in Pakistan is also going to impact the rest of the world...", Bhutto told CNN on Monday.
Sounding a warning note, Bhutto said: "We need to maintain Pakistan's stability. If there is no stability, then I'm afraid the controls could weaken".
Dr. Raj Baldev said, “President Musharraf is a tough guy, a great disciplined solider, a far sighted Army Officer and an unparallel statesman, besides all these qualities, he is a peace loving international personality, more liking for peace than fighting a war; he is five in one.
Dr. Raj Baldev continued: As I known him, President Musharraf has seen several seasons of his life, severe ups and downs and he is Musharraf alone who survived Pakistan throughout under his able guidance. He is capable of stinking and smelling all that even where experts take their complete life to reach,” NIA Chairman Dr. Raj Baldev, from New Delhi said.
President Musharraf is absolutely capable of controlling the nuclear arsenal and the Army and he is the only personality at present that can control the chaos in Pakistan, Dr. Raj Baldev said.
Dr. Raj Baldev continued, “The opinion that Benazir Bhutto has given in her interview, is a sort of political animosity and it is not a blanched analysis. When there was an agreement with Bhutto by President Musharraf, such a situation could not be dreamt either by Bhutto or Musharraf, hence Bhutto’s apprehension should not be taken serious.
Dr. Raj Baldev said, “I have complete study of Pakistan, the extremists and terrorists operating from there, no extremist or terrorist is functioning independently, all are tinged to some group or the other, various groups are linked to higher organizations with scholars and high thinkers, who may do a limited harm to some one up to a narrow scale to gain cheap publicity to get funds for their livelihood. They need money, for which they are prepared to do any small act of terrorism and that they do and get funds to survive. This is the total game.
“There is a competition among the terrorist groups, those who exhibit more dangerous get more funds, it is just a game of competition rather than genuine harming people. These small groups are not unwise to take undue advantage of the nuclear arsenals as apprehended by Bhutto. It is a game of top level, top scientists, top planners and they are well conscious what to do and not what not to do.
Dr. Raj Baldev concluded: “Benazir Bhutto was planning to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan under an agreement which was arrived at with President Musharraf, and since her prime minister ship is delayed either for a year or so under emergency, this statement given to CNN looks to be offshoot of her loss of position, which she was expected to get. There is nothing to be panicky!
