MIL/Agencies/Hindu, Nov 5, 2007. IR Summary
Bangalore: November 05, 2007 – Seeing no results coming from the Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur to invite BJP to form the new Government, both BJP and JD(S) have decided to physically parade all 129 legislators from Karnataka in front of President Pratibha Patil in a day or two.
This decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the JD(S) and BJP leaders here yesterday night. Before taking this step, the BJP leaders met Rameshwar Thakur again and drew his attention to the letter of “unconditional support, which they had already submitted before meeting him.
BJP State president D.V. Sadananda Gowda, however, maintained that the issue of “unconditional support” was not a point since they had already submitted the letter of support. He said, "The Governor is making unnecessary delay."(IR Summary).
Other factors of news from The Hindu:
Mr. Gowda told The Hindu that the party leaders had met the Governor for the second time to bring to his notice that they had ended their two-day-old indefinite dharna in the evening following his advice. They had requested him to send his report to the Centre well before the planned meeting with the President.
He said the coalition was trying to get an appointment with the President either on November 6 or 7.
