Did Jaswant Singh serve opium to his guests - Rajasthan court to decide the complaint

Jodhpur, Rajasthan: November 05, 2007 - IR Summary -There is a serious allegation leveled against former External Minister and BJP leader Jaswant Singh and others that opium was served at a function on 31 October 2007, which he had organized, and complaint to this effect was lodged on Friday. 

In its proceeding held on November 3, 2007, the Court had reserved its decision whether it is a fit case for investigation under section 156/3 of CrPC.

A special court here on Monday will pronounce its verdict whether investigation should be conducted into this case or not. 

Om Prakash Vishnoi had filed a complaint on Friday against Mr. Jaswant Singh under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985, against the former External Affairs Minister and nine other BJP leaders that opium was served during a function at his ancestral village Jasol in Barmer district of Rajasthan.
