If Bhagat Singh is terrorist,Why Can’t Bose and Gandhiji be tagged as terrorists?

New Delhi, November 2, 2007 –“As per the definition of the UPSC as appeared in Press, Bhagat Singh has been tagged as a terrorist, if so, why not Subhash Chander Bose and Mahatma Gandhi?”

Dr. Raj Baldev, Cairman, National Integration Assembly (NIA) while addressing his executives here today said:

Excerpts of his speech:

“There is an urgent need to cultivate the national character among the Indian people, who are desperately lacking it.  The majority of people takes undue advantage of their freedom, and does not hesitate to speak out anything against any patriot of the country, without balancing the honor of the nation.”

“Tomorrow, some body may try to compare Mahatma Gandhi with Osama Bin Laden,” Dr. Raj Baldev said. “There is a lot of difference between getting one’s own country liberated than other subsidiry causes for which some people are fighting.

‘Trying to liberate one’s own nation is not only primary duty of every citizen but a religious duty, a patriotic act to terrorize enemy’s heart and that’s what Shahid Bhagat Singh did. He gave an awakening call to the British Empire that Indians were not coward. Hence, to think anything reverse against any freedom fighter is an abominable sin,” Dr. Raj Baldev said.

“There are no two opinions that Subhash Chander Bose and Mahatma Gandhi gave a tough fight to the British Empire, for the sake of country’s honor to get her freedom and made huge sacrifices to achieve their goal?
Not only their sacrifices were unparalleled but also there were great other many patriots including Jawahar Lal Nehru and Bhagat Singh, whose names should be remembered with honor and respect, ”Dr. Raj Baldev said.

“Indian character seems to have gone so low that even the  educational Govt. departments have  started labeling Shahid Bhagat Singh as a terrorist and the Govt is acting as a silent spectator.

“Does it suggest UPA Govt., led by Congress, is probably ignoring to  acknowlege the contributions of other patriots except Nehru family and Gandhiji?

“UPSC has initiated an unpatriotic and anti national issue of  assassinating the patriotic character of Great Shahid Bhagat Singh and started a debate on whether the legendary martyr should be called “revolutionary terrorist”.

Great Bhagat Singh was born in Punjab on September 28, 1907, and was hanged by the British on March 23, 1931 just when he was around 24 years.

Bhagat Singh was a great soldier of India’s freedom struggle and his fight was to restore the freedom of his mother land, which is the fundamental right of every citizen of any country.

Dr. Raj Baldev, Chairman , National Integration Assembly (NIA) while addressing his executive members condemned the remarks of the UPSC against Bhagat Singh.

Dr. Raj Baldev questioned: “If somebody enters your house forcibly, what will you do, will he leave the house by folding hands?

“Dr. Raj Baldev said, “Mahamta Gandhi himself said, "Civil disobedience is civil breach of unmoral statutory enactments."

“As per UPSC definition, if Bhagat Singh could be declared as Terrorist then Mahatma Gandhi could also be compared with Osama Bin Laden?

“Just because India reacted on the call of Mahatma Gandhi which he sent throughout, and Bhagat Singh was a solider of freedom, who acted in his own way to awaken the British Empire that Indians were not coward.

“Similarly, Subhash Chander Bose shook the nerves of the British Empire. Great Indian Patriots fought collect and got the freedom.

“The freedom has thus not come due to Mahatma Gandhi alone. Of course his single contribution was counted more than others but without the support of other patriots, Mahatma Gandhi could  in no circumstances get the freedom of the country at all; freedom of the nation was achieved with collective efforts and not of any single individual .Dr. Raj Baldev concluded.
