BJP & JD(S) MLAs to Parade before Governor R.Thakur

MIL/Agencies/ZN, Oct 29, 2007

Bangalore: October 29, 2007 -  At last the wisdom prevailed upon both political parties in Karnataka i.e. BJP and JD(S) who realized their mistakes and shook hands keeping in view the delicate political position of the State, and met Governor Rameshwar Thakur to submit their letters of support from 123 MLAs.

The JD(S) particularly submitted their own letter of support in favor of BJP and cleared the way for a new consensus Chief Minister and submitted letters of support from 121 MLAs. The JD(S) on its part also submitted the letter of support in favour of BJP, thereby making way for B S Yeddyurappa.

Though dissident JD(S) leader M P Prakash has not changed his stand, and is opposed to a BJP led indulgence, the developments strongly suggest that both the political parties have shaken their hands and are to parade their MLAs in front of the Governor Rameshwar Thakur to end the President rule and form the Government in the state.

JD(S) spokesman Y S Datta had confirmed that all 123 legislators, 79 from BJP and 43 from JD(S), will physically be present before the Governor and hand over their letters of support to him to proceed further."

National Integration Assembly (NIA) Chairman Dr. Raj Baldev, who is also famous Cosmo Theorist from India, and a great social worker for national integration, met some important representatives  of both parties i.e. BJP and JD(S) and tried to convince them that it would be their political wisdom if they function together and avoid being laughed by others.

“Over and above, to remain united in a friendly coalition is in the interest of the Nation in general and State in particular,” Dr. Raj Baldev said.

NIA is happy that the situation has reached the final stage to parade 123 MLAs in front of the Governor. (IR Summary).

Other factors by Zee News:

Earlier in the day M P Prakash had told reporters that MLAs supporting him would communicate to the Governor its views on the ongoing government formation exercise.

However, he declined to talk about the number of MLAs supporting him. Interestingly Vatal Nagaraj (Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha) and some of the independents, including Jayaprakash Hegde, have already extended their support to Prakash.

When specifically asked whether he would continue efforts to form government with Congress support, Prakash had said, "So far, the Congress has not sent any proposal".

Reports indicate that BJP has already secured sworn-affidavit from its 79 MLAs pledging support to the BJP-JD(S) coalition government.

Former Deputy Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had on Friday staked claim to form the Government.
