JD(S) leaders meet again to discuss crises in Karnataka

MIL/IR/Agencies, Oct 5, 2007

New Delhi:  October 5, 2007 The political situation in Karnataka has gone from bad to worse, the top JD (S) leaders are found incapable of deciding what to do? They meet again and again with their inner party leaders but no result. Ultimately the top JD(S) leaders met today and discussed the issue of transfer power to BJP.

"The PAC (political affairs committee), the highest policy making body of the party met under the chairmanship of party supremo H D Deve Gowda and discussed the entire political situation in the state.”

However, the decision is still in reserve and is likely to be announced tomorrow about the fate of the BJP.

There is every likelihood that H.D.Kumaraswamy may prefer to go for the floor test on October 18. (IR Summary).

As per PTI, When askedAsked if there was any movement towards rapprochement between the two coalition partners, Ali said, "as of now things remain as they were." He said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy chaired a cabinet meeting in Bangalore where it was decided the government will go for floor test on October 18.

He, however, parried repeated questions as to what would be conveyed to the BJP leadership when the Chief Minister has already decided to go for floor test.

Asked specifically whether there was any communication with Congress, Ali said, "there is nothing as such but political leaders are always in touch with each other."
