PIL against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and others filed in High Court Delhi: January 02, 2014 – News n Analysis by Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist, on the issue of filing a PIL in the High Court Delhi on Thursday by petitioner advocate M L Sharma. Whar would you like to say about it?
Mr. Sharma has filed a PIL in the Delhi High Court seeking a direction to CBI to register a case of cheating and corruption against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Education Minister Manish Sisodia and Aam Aadmi Party for allegedly misleading citizens by making “false” promises in election manifesto.
He has further sought that the court should decide a constitutional issue as to whether making false declarations in election manifesto to secure votes of the general public amounts to cheating and criminal breach of trust or not.
The issue of false declaration by “misusing” Chief Minister’s office for political gain amounts to corruption and that is needed to be decided as per the petitioner who also questioned AAP govt’s statement on reducing electricity charge by 50 per cent from January 1.
The petition also mentions the AAP government’s failure to set up ‘Janlokpal’ by December 29 as “promised” in party’s poll manifesto.
Since the matter is now pending in the court, no comments can be offered on the surface of the grounds weak or strong;it is for the Hon.’ble High Court to consider the grounds for proper direction.
