MIL/Hindu, Sep 12, 2007.
Mumbai, September 12, 2007 - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would release veteran actor Dev Anand's memoirs on September 26 -a day which both the persons share as their birthday.
"The Prime Minister has very kindly agreed to release my book, on a day when it is both my birthday and his. So I will celebrate him and he will celebrae me and everyone else will celebrate the book. Sonia Gandhi has also agreed to be the chief guest," Anand told newspersons here.
In his trademark effusive style, the actor also dwelt forth on several aspects of the book, which is titled "Romancing Life" and is being published by Penguin.
"The book is me, it is my life for the last 84 years. Those who know me will find me in those pages. I have poured my heart out in the book, but I have also gone with the flow."
Anand also fielded questions on his love life and said, "Yes I have written about Suraiaya (actress with whom he had a long standing affair) and it is much more than you all know! There is nothing to be ashamed of."
Asked whether his recent failures as a producer were also chronicled in the book, he said, "I don't think of them as failures. I am merely experimenting with my thoughts. And moreover, the fact that I am still making films is success in itself. Otherwise at this age I would have been doing nothing."
