California, August 25, 2007 – Scientists have found a massive hole in the universe, which they never expected, it is indeed a big discovery and shall shed more light on the Birth of the Universe and the theory of Big Bang, how far it is applicable to it, as per Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmic Theorist from India and author of Two Big Bangs Created the Universe (Formed in Eternal Space).
The scientists feel that the hole is not a black hole – a star which has collapsed under the force of its own gravity. Instead the hole is a vast region, a billion light years across, devoid of any matter whatsoever. Despite the opinions of scientists, Dr. Raj Baldev has yet to give his final mind whether it is a Black Hole or some other Hole.
It doesn’t even contain any of the mysterios ‘dark matter’ which scientists believe could make up a large proportion of the mass of the universe.
It’s not a black hole – a star which has collapsed under the force of its own gravity. Instead the hole is a vast region, a billion light years across, devoid of any matter whatsoever.
The area is also colder than the rest of the universe – the cosmic background radiation, a faint after-echo of the big bang which is detectable across the whole universe, is fainter there than other parts.
The discovery was made by a team from the University of Minnesota, and documented in the Astrophysics Journal.
The team who found it still have no idea why this hole is there.
“Not only has no one ever found a void this big, but we never even expected to find one this size,” said Minnesota astronomy professor Lawrence Rudnick.
