Washington - With the announcement of its new search engine, experts feel that Microsoft may spoil the search engine party of Google and Yahoo.

The software giant has released a beta version of its new MSN search service today, which claims to offer the consumers with faster access and control. The search tool further claims to be heavy on personalization, control and ease-of-use. Apparently, users can type in a question, and expect to get highly relevant results.

The company claims that it has features such as search near me, (searching within a specified geographical location) and search builder (searching by specifying certain criteria), which seem to be a first when it comes down to Microsoft

Industry watchers however, say that even though the new MSN search is feature rich, the fact remains that nothing can be said until and unless the search engine is implemented in real-time.

According to press reports, the new engine searches through an index of five billion Web documents, and is available in 11 languages. The software giant’s MSN division has been working on this search engine for the last two years. It shall be operational by the end of this year.

According to CXOtoday.com, the search tool is obviously an attempt by Microsoft to compete directly with the likes of Google, being as popular as it is. While speed and relevancy are crucial to any search engine, one will have to adopt a wait and watch policy. In the meantime, is it warning bells for Google and Yahoo?
