London: July 14, 2007 - With the release date for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" a week away, speculations are mounting on what will be in store for boy wizard Harry Potter.
And bets are pouring heavily in on Harry killing himself in the final book of JK Rowling’s series.
Bookies William Hill have cut the price on Harry sacrificing himself from an immense 33-1 to odds on, fearing that fans with inside information of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows are scheming a second huge sting.
Bookies were washed out after the release of The Half-Blood Prince in 2005, when clued-up supporters backed headmaster Dumbledore to die.
“The idea has gained momentum with fans. They expect for good to triumph over evil Harry will have to cause his own death,” The Sun quoted William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams, as saying.
“There has been so much money put on we fear this is a massive sting by people in the know,” he added.
The odds for Harry killing himself are 10-11 on, with arch-rival Lord Voldemort at 9-4 to kill the boy wizard.
However William Hill has announced that they will refund all the bets if Harry stays alive.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" is slated for a July 21 release worldwide. (ANI)
