July 06, 2007 (Friday) – The hopes for the survival of Suraj are very little. Suraj is a six year old boy, who had fallen into a 180-foot deep borewell in Nimada near Jaipur about 38 hours ago, while playing.
Another tragedy occurred that on Thursday evening a crane that was assisting in the rescue efforts ran over and crushed a man.
However, the army is also helping in the rescue operation, whose team has piped Oxygen into the shaft to keep the child alive.
''The child’s mother is very sad. All what she wants her son to be pulled out safely. She believes in God who would help the child. It’s now three days and the hopes of his survival are fading away. “It is God alone who could help him to come out alive,'' said Om Prakash, Suraj's father.
But closed circuit TV cameras lowered into the borewell have not detected any movement from Suraj for over 24 hours as per the report of Ranjan Mohan from Nimada.
